Southern Orthopaedic Association, founded in 1906, a non-profit educational organization with 2000 members, whose purposes are to develop and foster scientific medicine in the specialty of orthopaedic surgery and to provide a forum for the exchange of original, practical, medical and surgical information. 

Clinical Orthopaedic Society, founded in 1912, a non-profit educational organization with 750 members, whose purpose is the creation of an interest and further study of clinical orthopaedic care through continuing medical education activities.
