Missouri
State Orthopaedic Association, the first state orthopaedic
society on the internet, was established to have physicians volunteer
their time to help their professional associations achieve their
goals and ultimately improve the quality of orthopaedics provided
to Missouri residents. Many advances were made in the activities
of the Association in hopes to provide input for legislators regarding
important public health and safety issues and to turn public attention
to issues concerning orthopaedic conditions and musculoskeletal
care.
North
Carolina Orthopaedic Association, founded 1946, was established
to bring together orthopaedic surgeons of the state who are committed
to a high level of professional excellence in Orthopaedics and
the overall orthopaedic health and well-being of the citizens
of the State. The mission of the association is to advance the
science and practice of orthopaedic surgery through education
and advocacy on behalf of patients and practitioners, with emphasis
on overall quality orthopaedic health care for the state of North
Carolina.
Tennessee
Orthopaedic Society, founded 1948, is dedicated to increasing
public awareness and health care improvement for persons with
musculoskeletal impairments. Tennessee Orthopaedic Society supports
continuing medical education for its over 350 members and monitors
the effects of socio-economic and legislative measures impacting
the quality, availability, and cost of health care in
orthopaedics.
Florida
Orthopaedic Society, affiliated with the Journal of the
Southern Orthopaedic Association, was founded in 1947 to raise
standards of orthopaedic practices by providing ongoing education,
networking, recognition, and certification.
